Hella's primary practice is image-making in its many forms. Working predominantly with analogue photography and alternative photographic processes, she embraces experimentation and materiality throughout her work. Film remains at the core of her practice, serving as her preferred medium for capturing and creating images.
Poetry
Writing was Hella's first form of creative expression. Working in both Hungarian and English, her writing practice continues alongside her photographic work. Feelings take shape as words, which in turn evolve into visual narratives, creating an ongoing dialogue between text and image.

Bookmaking is a recent addition to Hella's creative practice. Her first handmade, self-published artist book brings together photography and poetry to explore themes of self-grief, memory, and personal reflection.
About Hella
Hella D. Marosi is a Hungarian image-maker and process-led artist based in London. Working with analogue and alternative photographic techniques, her practice explores themes of memory, womanhood, trauma, and personal history. Her work often begins with poetry, using writing as a means of translating emotion into visual form. Drawn to tactile processes such as cyanotypes and pigment-based printing, she creates work that transforms lived experiences into intimate and reflective narratives.
